Date
Tuesday 19 April 2016 - 20:15 to Thursday 28 April 2016 - 20:15

On April 23 2016 we are marking the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare's death, England’s most famous dramatist and poet, with over a thousand screenwriting credits in films.
Reason enough to celebrate his genius, influence and works with a selection of his plays, interpreted on stage and on screen! In January 2016 the British Film Institute (BFI) together with the British Council has launched a major project celebrating Shakespeare in film, including films dating from 1899 right up to the present day, all adapted from and inspired by Shakespeare’s work. In Vienna the British Council Austria and the British Embassy together with the English Cinema Haydn is offering a special programme around April 23.
